Extensions

R Edwards Planning Ltd has completed over 200 extensions over the last 3 years.
We have designed various different types of extension with various budgets ranging from 20k – 300k!!
Designing extensions to work efficiently and as cost effective as possible, can be a complicated affair. Various factors have to be taken into account, from an early stage, in relation to the existing dwelling and it is quiet often the case that you do not know these constraints, until the existing property has been surveyed and the proposed extension designed.

We have illustrated a few recent projects that have been completed, but have many more in the office should you wish to see some more examples.

Project: Lavender wood, Silchester.

We produced some drawings for a client back in september 2008 and aquired planning permission by November.
Part of the building work has been carried out and completed, however our clients have since moved and sold the house. We have been asked by the new owners to produce some sketch schemes for a new first floor.

Project: 19 Chestnut Grove, Fleet.

We carried out the planning and building regulation drawings for this project just before Christmas. The project is just about finished with the exception of a few interior details.
The extension was for a part two storey/part single storey rear extension.
The brief was to design something contemporary whilst keeping the original feel to the dwelling.
Our clients and ourselves are very pleased with the end result and we feel we have exceeded what we set out to do.

Project: Firlands, Silchester

We were approached by a client who have been looking to extend their property ever since they moved in. The house is situated in a great location, on a large sized plot, but lacks the wow factor that is needed in such a location.
Our clients are looking to substantially extend the property with rear and side extensions over both the ground and first floors.
Drawings are being carried out at present and should be uploaded onto the site shortly.

Project: Fairoak cottage, Ashford hill

This house dates back to approximately 1920 and was recently purchased to be transformed into a traditional family home. The property was already a substantial sized house but had been left for many years and required everything from new heating through to new electrics and even replacement of parts of the original roof.

Our client gave us a brief to substantially extend the property and enhance the look of the elevations. A large extension to the rear of the house has been designed incorporating an impressive upstairs master bedroom and large open plan kitchen/dining area.

Project: Hale Cottage, Brimpton

This property is a semi detached cottage constructed in the 1850's. We carried out an extension to next doors property, Lavender Cottage in 2009, which consisted of a very similar footprint to what is shown here, but with revised internals. This property was bought just before Christmas and we have completed the drawings and submitted them to the council in just over a week!

Project: Oak Cottage, Newbury Road

This 1930's cottage had been left in a state of disrepair for some time before being recently purchased at auction. The new owners of this property came to us looking to extend whilst ensuring that the original features remain. The proposed is of a modest nature with a first floor extension over the existing kitchen. Many more alterations have been made to the inside of the property to help give our clients a comfortable home which oozes character!

Project: Freshfield, Ewshot

This project was carried out for a private client who was looking to add to his already substantial family home. We added two further bedrooms and large family bathroom above the existing garage and kitchen area. The result of the extension has made the house look even more grand and imposing and provided our client with the extra space that was needed to balance out the house.
