Listed Buildings

We are currently working on several listed buildings throughout the Hampshire and Berkshire districts. As a practice, we have vast experience dealing with the necessary conservation and planning officers and can ensure that the proposed design integrates and enhances the existing building. Intergrating an extension does not necessarily mean that the extension need look the same but a contemporary contrast is sometimes equally as effective in enhancing the current building.

Amery Farm House, Alton

One of our many long term client's came to us looking to transform this old grade II listed building which has been in his possesion for many years. The house dates back to the 1400's and most recently was being used as a commercial building.
Our client's plans have yet to be decided and we are currenly at the feasibility stage.
Plans and schemes wil be posted on the site shortly.

Project: Our client had just bought the grade II listed building and was looking to achieve a 2 storey extension to the rear. Having carried out previous work for our client, some 10 years ago.
We had an idea of how to achieve his desired goals. He basically gave us free reign of the project but wanted it to be kept simple and easy to build.

We produced an aesthetically pleasing design and one that answered the questions set out in the brief.

Proposed 2 storey rear extension

Grade II listed dwelling.
Project: Owls Roost, Kingsclere.

Client: A repeat client came to us to apply for the replacement of the existing single glazed windows, as they were in a state of disrepair. After the work was completed, they were so impressed with what we had achieved (their words not ours), that they decided to instruct us to design a 2 storey side extension. The design was focused on keeping the existing frontage as traditional as possible, whilst adding a modern aspect to the rear.

The work to the building will be started shortly and should be completed by the middle of next year.

Grade II listed dwelling.
Project: The Old Post house, Woolhampton.

Client: A family friend approached us looking to extend their grade II listed house. Their brief was simple, to provide them with more living accommodation so that they didn’t have to move. We designed a simple yet effective extension incorporating the existing cat-slide roof to the rear of the property and using traditional in keeping materials. We achieved what we set out to do and the extra room will enable our clients to stay in their much loved home whilst not having the stress of finding another property.
